    Budget AMD Gaming Build

    In the podcast you mentioned Ryzen with GPU. If someone is looking for small form factor with good performance they may want to consider one of these: ASRock DESKMINI A300W AMD Socket AM4 1 x HDMI Barebone System $150 https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16856158064?cm_sp=SearchSuccess-_-INFOCARD-_-asrock+w300-_-56-158-064-_-1&Description=asrock+w300 AMD RYZEN 5 2400G Quad-Core 3.6 GHz $140 https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-2400g/p/N82E16819113480 CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2933 $75 https://www.newegg.com/corsair-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820236387 Silicon Power 512GB NVMe M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 x4 TLC R/W up to 3,400/2,300 MB/s SSD $60 https://www.newegg.com/silicon-power-p34a80-512gb/p/N82E16820301394?Description=512gb ssd&cm_re=512gb_ssd-_-20-301-394-_-Product Total $425

    Budget AMD Gaming Build

I have been considering an affordable gaming build as well. Random thoughts: SSD drives form factor versus interface. M.2 is a form factor, M.2 drives can have a SATA or NVMe (PCIe) interface 2.5" drives can be 5mm, 7mm, 9.5mm, 12.5mm or 15mm in thickness and can have SATA, SAS or NVMe (PCIe U.2 U.3) interface. The Samsung 970 Pro is a great drive, 3500MB/s read and 2700MB/s write. The SP you listed is a great value, 3400MB/s read and 3000MB/s write, 1TB for $115. Most other 1TB M.2 NVMe drives at $100 have 1500MB/s read and 1000MB/s write. I know there is concern buying something other than Samsung, Intel, Crucial, Toshiba, but I have had good luck with SP. As for graphic cards, there had been some really good deals on RX590 8GB and lots of refurb on RX580 and RX570, but I need to do a comparison of bang for the buck, new tech versus last gen. Your build looks good, factoring in stuff you already own and gift card purchases. This is what I have been kicking around: ASRock Fatal1ty X370 Gaming-ITX $110 https://www.newegg.com/asrock-fatal1ty-x370-gaming-itx-ac/p/N82E16813157779 AMD RYZEN 5 2600 6-Core 3.4 GHz $150 https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-2600/p/N82E16819113496 CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2933 $160 https://www.newegg.com/corsair-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820236479 Silicon Power 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 TLC R/W up to 3,400/3,000MB/s SSD (SU001TBP34A80M28AB) $115 https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Gen3x4-000MB-SU001TBP34A80M28AB/dp/B07L6GF81L/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=SU001TBP34A80M28AB&qid=1560712947&s=gateway&sr=8-1 ASRock Phantom Gaming X Radeon RX 580 DirectX 12 RX580 8G OC 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 $170 https://www.newegg.com/asrock-radeon-rx-580-rx580-8g-oc/p/N82E16814930002 Metallic Gear Neo Series MG-NE210_BK01 Black Sandblasted Aluminum, Steel Chassis, Tempered Glass Mini-ITX Case $60 https://www.newegg.com/black-metallic-gear-neo-series-mini-itx-case/p/N82E16811861001 SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC $40 after MIR https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-m12ii-620-bronze-620w/p/N82E16817151095 Total $805 Thoughts?

It's probably time to combine the Pro forums. It used to be pretty simple!
  7. I mentioned on RESET 63 that I was going to build a small gaming PC. Here is my parts list: Case - ThermalTake V21 - https://amzn.to/2KjRLi0 $60 OWN Already SSD/HDD - Samsung 970 Pro 512GB https://amzn.to/2FaJ4Cc . $147.99 Purchased, see below. Mobo - ASROCK MicroATX B450M Pro4 - https://amzn.to/2IYaUTF $75.71 AMD Ryzen 5 2600 - https://amzn.to/2FcUPbt $147.77 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700 - https://amzn.to/2MPUMsc $209.99 RAM Corsair Vengence 2x8GB 3000MHZ - https://amzn.to/2MPxq6k $74.99 or Corsair Vengeance 2x8 3200 LED - https://amzn.to/2KMH7jc $99.99 GPU - Undetermined P/S - I have a 650 modular somewhere in a case. Antec I think. Thoughts and Updates I purchased the Ryzen 7 and the LED Ram. Just a few bucks more for LED's. I also have a Corsair keyboard and mouse so already use the software. I was looking around at LED coolers for the Ryzen 5 and it just made more sense to upgrade the processor to the 7 as it has a LED cooler in it. I was thinking about getting this NVME drive from Amazon. Silicon Power NVMe PCIe M.2 - https://amzn.to/2IizNKg $115.99 I got the Samsung from Fry's Electronics instead. It's local to me and this is literally the only thing in the store worth buying. No Mobo's, no CPU's, but they did have NVIDIA GPU's, but not a selection of Radeon. Just a lonely 570. I had a gift card to Fry's so I needed to use it. I did a price match for the Samsun 970 and used the card. The board is a good budget board. It has a NVMe slot for M.2 so that 970 should see it's full potential. It has an additional M.2 slot but I will probably find a budget 1TB SSD to use for additional storage. I also think I read somewhere that if you use the second M.2 you lose additional SATA ports which that is normal but I forget if it took two SATA ports or not. (remember when we used to put a spinner as the 2nd drive?) Four RAM slots! I'll use two now and maybe fill it up in the future. Probably won't though. Lastly, I have stated in the past that when I build again I'm going to get the best I can get. I want a tricked out Core i7! Well, sometimes the wallet fights back when it comes to actually paying for the gear. I did step it up from a Ryzen 5 to the 7 though. I think this will be a nice build. I'll follow up for sure. Just for grins. Here is my last build. Check out that date! This box is sitting beside me running Windows 10 Pro. Everything has been upgrade except the mobo and the CPU. Everything else was ripped out at some point. Gear has flown through this case and mobo like water through a stream. It has a Radeon RX550 in it now. It has a modified bios and has been OC'd a bit. I may hand it down as a beginner gamer.

HP ML10 GEN 9 parts help

The manual does not show a mini SAS port on the system board. Is there a mini SAS port on your motherboard? Do you have any cards installed in the server?

As far as I know only HPE branded cards are visible in iLo.

Found a solution: I had to disable vmw-ahci, (esxcli system module set --enabled=false --module=vmw_ahci), now the local datastores are accessible again and no data lost. I am running two 2 GB Crucial MX500 SSDs and two WD Red Pro 10 GB HDDs. From a Win10 VM, i was testing with thick provisioned VMDKs and got the values as attached. As it is my first HP Gen 8 bought recently, are the values what I should expect?

HP ML10 GEN 9 parts help

According to the manual an ML10 Gen9 just has SATA ports. Any standard SATA cable should work.
  16. I have been following the instruction from here https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX-667716d4a6854e73b718994cf1#tab2 but I just can not get it to work; is the array drive installed as default when 6.5 is installed?

Giving This Walmart Tablet a Try

I am enjoying the 8 inch tablet. I am able to watch Netflix, YoutubTV, access email. I did not give this tablet much expectations but so far so good. The battery will last me a day with moderate use and charging is done within and hour.

Does the older scsi-hpvsa-5.5.0-88OEM.550.0.0.1331820.x86_64.vib work for you with the HP 6.7 U2 release? I updated to 6.7 U2, everything worked fine, afterwords I downgraded to the scsi-hpvsa-5.5.0-88OEM. After the reboot, I can not see my Datastores anymore, when I click in the Webgui on the storage adapter i get an error: Ursache: Possibly unhandled rejection: {} Version: 1.33.3 Build: 12923304 ESXi: 6.7.0 Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:67.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/67.0 Ausnahmestapel: this.toAddress64@https://192.168.100.120/ui/scripts/main.js:422:206 updateAdapter@https://192.168.100.120/ui/scripts/main.js:365:26206 @https://192.168.100.120/ui/scripts/main.js:365:26542 k/<@https://192.168.100.120/ui/scripts/main.js:324:23176 $digest@https://192.168.100.120/ui/scripts/main.js:324:28780 $evalAsync/<@https://192.168.100.120/ui/scripts/main.js:324:30503 e@https://192.168.100.120/ui/scripts/main.js:323:10071 tg/h.defer/c<@https://192.168.100.120/ui/scripts/main.js:323:11522

I'd have the Surface as the subforum, then Pro, Book, Laptop, other. Saves having scroll as far down the forums listing...
  23. Try both. I think I have one or maybe 2 of the disks. I have two boxes but have somehow lost the disks in 2 moves. There is still a crap ton of info out there. One search led me to this article. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01586276 Probably some of the same info for the 495

  25. Hi, I have a Gen8 Microserver running Win10, with 4 x 4TB drives, combined in stablebit drivepool. Each drive is setup as an individual array within iLO - so JBOD. Recently two of the drives reported bad sectors so I want to replace them. I've removed the two offending drives from the drive pool, and moved all files from them, but I'm just a bit nervous about the process of replacing them within iLO. The drives are E:, F:, G: and H:. It's G and H that have bad sectors. In Stablebit Scanner these are report as PHYSICALDRIVE 3 and 4. Using Speccy I identified the serial numbers of those drives. Unfortunately, when I go into iLo, the serial numbers are different (as reported in the Assigned Drives). So, Q1 - how do I actually identify the drives with the bad sectors in iLo? Given that they are PHYSICALDRIVES 3 & 4, can I assume they are located in Bays 3 & 4? (i.e. the two right hand bays). Q2 - What's the best way to remove them? Can I just physically pull them out and replace them (with potentially drives of differing sizes). Or do I need to delete the individual arrays they belong to? (Slightly nervous about that as it warns me all data will be wiped, so I want to be absolutely sure I'm deleting the correct arrays!). I do have all the files backed up, so I shouldn't lose any data, but restoring and reconfiguring would be a major pain in the butt.

    ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 Links

Yes, I already did it. Just download the .exe file then extract it with WinZip, 7Zip or any other archive manager (yes, in fact the .exe file is a self-extracting archive), then flash the extracted image with iLO interface.
