NIC Issue

Hi, I am a relative newbie on Microserver but I am having an issue on the two NICs on my Gen8. Both ports 1 and 2 are showing no signs of life however the ilo port is still live and usb are all active.

I have loaded the latest firmware however there are no signs of the Nic on boot. Is there any diagnosis or tips to try as I suspect hardware failure at present?

Many thanks if you can provide any advice.

This has worked very well for over a year. Have tried the following:

reset bios

reload rom

Network driver updates will not work as hardware not detected

ilo port is working fine so not sure what to try

does the adapter show up in iLO, under System Information/Network?

If not, you could try the system reset dip switch, but it does sound like a motherboard failure.

If you are not using the PCIe slot, you could always put another card in there?

Many thank, it does not show up in ilo. I have ordered a low profile Nic for the slot. Where is the system reset dip switch?

sounds like the motherboard has failed. :(

i'm not sure where the dip switch is on the gen8 - probably worth checking out the gen8 tech guide on the hp website - I have a ml310e, so my model has a different layout...
