Drashna Jaelre 159
Since OwnCloud has officially dropped Windows support .... And getting everything to work in Linux is a royal PITA for me... I was wondering if anyone was aware of a good alternative to it. Unfortunately, I've pretty much been through the listing on alternative.to and haven't found anything that's simple and easy to use like OwnCloud, and can be run on Windows. I've tried Pydio, which is about the closest thing, but ... it's overly complicated for what I want.
schoondoggy 895
Not sure if this meets your needs or budget, but we sell a good deal of this at work: https://www.novell.com/products/filr/
Drashna Jaelre 159
That's ... probably way overkill for what I need, and priced accordingly. But thanks, will look into it (it sounds like it's what I want, specifically)
Jason Cobb 1
I know this is old and I'm late to the discussion but I also have used OC for a long time and I'm too setup in it now to change...what I did was to run OC in an Ubuntu VM on my Server 2012r2 setup. It's pretty easy to setup, I've got SSL working and it just works. I'm not aware of any gotcha's about running it this way and maybe I shouldn't be but until I learn otherwise it works for me.
