OctavianH
Hi guys, Just wondering, anyone tried to use the HDDs Western Digital Red 6TB (more exactly WD60EFRX)? I see that some local shops have some discounts and I want to see if I can count them as a possible future upgrade. Most probably the discount is caused by a future release of 8TB models... who knows. Thank you.
jmwills
Drives are getting cheaper across the board, not like in 2011 but it's getting close.
OctavianH
I guess 6TB should work. But as far as I know there are some hardware differences and also NASware is 3.0 instead of 2.0. So better to ask..
psikey
Should work I'd say. I do actually have 6TB WD drives but in my QNAP TS-470Pro and can't recall if I did actually try them in the G8. Edited June 11, 2015 by psikey

OctavianH
dont forget to wdidle3 /D on first powerup Also for Red ones? I did this only on my main desktop on 2 Green drives. Normally Red drivers are designed for NAS and heavy usage and should not have excessive LLC count.
