miodzicho
Good day all. I have installed SSD in my gen8. Configured, formatted and assigned as cache storage in ESXi. All fine for few days, then suddenly comes failure. So repeated procedure, with format etc. For 2 weeks no issues, then again : What can be a reson for this ? schoondoggy
Have you updated the firmware on the SSD? Have you thoroughly checked all of the connections?
miodzicho
Have you updated the firmware on the SSD? Have you thoroughly checked all of the connections? Not updated, checked and this is latest FW available. Connectors and cables seems all fine...maybe I should replace SATA cable, just to be sure. schoondoggy
I have a SATA II Samsung SSD that gives me connectivity issues with certain chipsets. I went to upgrade the firmware and I could not because it was a OEM drive from HP. The Samsung upgrade utilities only work on Samsung branded drives. Hopefully yours is not a OEM drive. miodzicho
It is not OEM drive, to be honest, I'm not really sure if SSD cache makes any difference in ESXi. Maybe just remove from server. Edited May 29, 2015 by miodzicho

GotNoTime
Was runnig in N40L, just fine.Have you tested it again though? There is the possibility that it really has failed.
