I'm Going to be setting up a new server and was wondering if the server operating system should be on its own hard drive. What do you think?

You will need to play with a cnfg.ini file to make any of the Home Server/Essentials installations install on anything less than a 160 gig drive.

Sorry, should have mentioned the OS will be Server 2012 Essentials R2.

SSD you say? What about durability? Should I get one of the "enterprise" ones, the the Sandisk Pro Extreme with a 10 year warranty?

64 gigs seems really small, will that really be enough?

Is this server for a business or home? Durability is not the concern with SSD that it once was.

64GB is enough for the OS. 120GB are priced right. $50-$60

For home use I would not worry about a SSD wearing out.

Have you already purchased Server 2012E R2?
