Anyone have a source for replacement Hard Drive Caddy Screws

Recommended Posts

gcc

Hi,

I am looking for replacement screws for the hard drive caddy. They appear to be:

6-32 x 1/4 Flat Head, T10 torx

100 or 120 degree countersunk

0.25 head width

The 0.25 head width is the oddball here in my experience. I am finding a lot of 0.19 head widths in this size screw.

Anyone have a source for these screws?

Thanks

I think I have a bunch in Philips, but not Torx.

I realise this is from a while ago, but in case anyone reads this post, this might help

I ordered these:

https://www.accu.co.uk/en/hexalobular-countersunk-screws/36076-SHK-6-32-3-8-A2

They are very close in size to the originals, the torx is T15 not T10, and the angle and 'H' size is very slightly off, but they do hold the drive secure, with a very very very small amount of movement, I ordered enough to replace all my T10s so all will be the same.

Hope this helps someone.

Let us know how they fit. The 80 degree angle may be too sharp for them to firmly grip the tray.

Indeed, its not perfect, but I think it will do the job, not 100% as tight as original, but from initial testing I would say 85%

I will fully test next week to see how they work in the server, if they rattle or anything like that.

I know im resurrecting a topic, but what is the official version?

Im lacking 16 of these and im looking through the manual and i cannot find a spec for the screws.

Any help would be appreciated!

would these do?

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000025462486.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.be183c00VACp3i&mp=1

The specs listed in the first post are acurate:

6-32 x 1/4" Flat Head,

T10 torx(original) or Phillips

100 or 120 degree countersunk

0.25 inch head width

This place seems to offer 6-32 x 1/4" flat head Phillips 100 degree countersunk with .262 diameter heads:
