RHead 0
Hi. I'm new owner of TS140. I did have microsever n36l and adaptec 2805 card working fine. I did try use it with TS140 but first x16 slot card won't even boot to kernel. Second place it boots well and array created. And it boots to Windows 8.1 well. But when checking drives and etc no adaptec card working. Picture posted as attachment. Edited April 23, 2015 by RHead

schoondoggy 895
It sounds like it may be a driver issue. Can you try a different OS, maybe a Linux variant to see if that works? It does list Win 8 as being supported: http://ask.adaptec.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17030 Looks like the TS140 is UEFI: http://www.lenovo.com/images/products/server/pdfs/tech_resources/thinkserver_ts140_ts440_uefi_tr.pdf It looks like the 2805 is not compatible with UEFI systems: http://ask.adaptec.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17087/~/adaptec-controllers-and-uefi-motherboards You could check this as well: http://ask.adaptec.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17358/~/shutdown-and-restart-problems-in-windows-8-and-windows-8.1 Sorry to send all these links, but I am on a very boring conference call! RHead 0
Ok. So i have to buy new or used raid card. Is there any reason to get 6g raid or should stay looking 3g raid?
GotNoTime 219
Ok. So i have to buy new or used raid card. Is there any reason to get 6g raid or should stay looking 3g raid? Unless the 3Gbps card is extremely cheap, I'd say get a 6Gbps card just for a tiny amount of future proofing. If you ever want to attach SSDs then you'll want a card that supports 6Gbps.
