ImTheTypeOfGuy 55
I was watching a movie on my HTPC and it just quit. Nothing I did would bring the movie back. So I rebooted the machine and it went into the BIOS. Would that indicate a hard drive issue? I indicate issue because after another reboot it started working again.
jmwills 284
It could be a thousand things. I'd look in the Event logs first and check all the physical connections. First thing I would check would be a loose cable or CPU Cooler.
Drashna Jaelre 159
checking the disk may be a good idea, but I'm not as inclined to believe that's the issue. A memory test is ALWAYS a good idea, especially when weird things happen. And an extended test is better than the basic tests. But yeah, checking the logs is the best starting place. ikon 439
I concur with both observations. I think I would run memtest86 first.
