Don W
Drashna, as for software downloaded from Dreamspark, the option to call in and reactivate is not there.
nrf
this raises the question of bare metal server restore - can activation of these dreamspark licenses survive a bare metal restore? I have done client BMR to the same physical disk and they did not require re-activation, I am curious what happens if you have a bad drive and have to BMR... ikon
I think it would survive most recoveries. However, if the hardware changed too much, it might trigger a re-activation.
arbeedub
just adding to the technet advice here.. Â only those technet agreements (AND renewals) signed/agreed before 16th July 2012 are entitles to perpetual technet licensing. Â If you signed/renewed on or after 16th July 2012, then your technet license usage rights expired on the day your technet subscription ended. ikon
Thanks for that. It's a bit of an odd licencing situation, but at least it now appears to be clear.
nrf
that is exactly why I didn't renew at that time - no desire to lose my licenses.
Drashna Jaelre
I'm just glad that my TechNet license wasn't renewed after that. One good thing about my MVP award not being renewed, I guess.
