NEO-BAHAMUT-
Sounds a stupid question but is there a trick to getting this installed? The caddy that comes with the server isn't the right size for SSD? or am I missing something?
schoondoggy
You need to get an adapter like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817994121&cm_re=icy_dock_drive-_-17-994-121-_-Product I think this is the HP design: http://www.amazon.com/General-Drive-HDD-Adapter-CADDY/dp/B00F3QFKNS Do not use the brackets that come with a SSD, they do not align correctly:
Joe_Miner
Sounds a stupid question but is there a trick to getting this installed? The caddy that comes with the server isn't the right size for SSD? or am I missing something? An Icy dock EZConvert is what I've been using. See: http://homeservershow.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6630-icy-dock-ezconvert-mb882sp-1s-2b/ The 2B model only works well with 9mm SSD's so i wanted to use 7mm and/or 9mm SSD's and I got get the 1B model and if i want to use 2.5" drives that are 7mm or 9mm or 15mm then use the EZConvert Air right now I have 3 MB882SP-1S-1B's and 1 EZConvert Air in my Gen8 with no issues. WatercooledWizard
I use the genuine HP ones here , but the price always seems to be going up on them. If you search for the HP part number 654540-001 you may find them at a better price elsewhere (depending on where you are) Edited February 1, 2015 by WatercooledWizard
