N54L Microserver - Rear Fan Replacement Guide

...there is a sensor to check the fan's rpm, had a similar issue rebooting my N54l after some mods; had to "park" it next to the heating so it became warm again and the fan turning faster; a fast check brought the insight, that it might be best to use a "non-pwm fan", or a silent fan  who turns a bit faster in the lowest settings... as i don't have the links handy right now, i believe it has to be at least 800rpm in the slowest setting)

 

(btw - had used several SWiF2-120P; no good experience with a single one of 'em... )

Didn't mod the PSU fan huh...

 

Anyways, I have 3 Noctua fans.....2 120mm and one 80mm in a case beside the N54L....and the N54L is still louder.

 

That's why I'm going to go with Noctua. Has anyone tried?

tried mine and the fans are like jet plane. lol
