Hi forum.

Ive just bought a HP microserver gen 8 and a HP p222, as I understand this card is fully compatible with the server. However im planning to connect 2 SSD to the built in controller for OS, and connect the internal 4 bay to the P222 internal connector. My question: what cable do i need til connect 2 more sata disk to the external connector?

The external connector is a SFF-8088. You could run a SFF-8088 to SFF-8088 cable to a external drive enclosure.

or

You could try a SFF-8088 SATA cable. Something like this:

The only issue I have seen with these cables is fan in vs fan out. You would want a fan out cable.

hi,

Thx for quick reply. Im not sure what fan in vs fan out means. Im planning to have at least 2 HD connected to a bracket internal in the Microserver.
