Multiple "chkdsk /r" instances

Recommended Posts

I originally posted this question over at the Drive Bender forums. Nary a nibble.

Maybe you guys can help me.

I have five (5) disks in a DB pool. I know it is possible to run multiple cmd sessions, hence in theory, multiple chkdsk instances that can be performed to each of the individual drives. Just out of curiosity, Is this advisable?

If you can stand to take all 5 disks off line while doing it.  Why do you need to run that many sessions?

Why not run a Scheduled Task that runs CHKDSK on each drive, one after another, overnight. Have the CHKDSK sessions log their results to a file or files, so you can check them later.

Yes, you could. But they'd have to run as separate windows. ....
