WHS_Refugee
I have a W7 PC (a machine that acts as a HTPC), and I can only see two other computers on my network - the server, and a Vista PC that isn't a member of the domain. This machine had been a member of a homegroup, and I forgot to leave the homegroup when I ran the connector. So, I left the homegroup, and I've unjoined it from the domain (I also deleted its computer account in ADUC on the server). I've rejoined the domain, but I can still only see the server and the Vista machine. I can't see other W7 machines in the domain, and I can't even ping them, even with the IP address. Help! I do have the server's IP address set as the first DNS address. Also, how do you uninstall the Connector? I don't see it in Control Panel / Programs and Features. WHS_Refugee
Okay, I think I figured it out - I had network discovery and file sharing turned off on everything. It's on now, and I can see and ping the other computers.
ikon
Glad you found that little gem (Network Discovery). Also, PING has nothing to do with DNS - DNS is only used to find IP addresses. What I mean is, problems with DNS won't affect the ability to PING computers.
WHS_Refugee
Still, how do you uninstall the Connector software, since it isn't in Control Panel / Programs and Features.
jmwills
Have you checked in the "Installed Updates" section?
ikon
Still, how do you uninstall the Connector software, since it isn't in Control Panel / Programs and Features. Is this the Essentials Connector? If so, it should be in Programs and Features. Look near the bottom for "Windows.....".
