I know this is a weird question but I was wondering if any one knew if the T20 can boot off of USB thumb drive?

Yes it works, oddly enough on all ports.

I have a USB2 stick with FreeNAS on it. It booted on USB2 and USB3 ports on the front and back.

I also tried a USB3 stick with Win 8 on it and it booted and ran on USB2 and USB3 ports as well.

Thanks. Now I am just waiting for it to go on sale.

Surprising it works on the USB3 ports. I wonder if they're actually working at USB3 speed, or if they're using some USB2 compatibility mode. If it is USB3 speed it would be the first system I've heard of that's supporting USB3 ports right from the BIOS/UEFI without an add-on driver. We all know USB3 support will get baked into every BIOS/UEFI eventually -- it's just taking a lot longer than at least I would have thought or hoped.
