demiurg 0
Even if this is not a popular implementation on a server, I would like to ask if anyone has some positive experiences with a graphiccard on the G8 (running ESXi)? For example some low- to mid-level cards such as sapphire (noiseless) editions or others. Esp. experiences with the driver(s) and fan level (increase?) of the G8. Of course, I would also love to hear for what particular reason you implemented a grapiccard on the PCIe slot. Thank you.
LoneWolf 157
Is there a reason you want a graphics card when you're running ESXi? That would be my question.
oj88 134
Maybe if you can describe the end state you're trying to achieve and for what purpose.
ikon 439
Hmmmm, wondering if he wants to pass the GPU through to a VM.
jmwills 284
^^ That could be the only logical explanation.
demiurg 0
:-) ;-) more simple: XBMC Media Center (to lift the word "home" out of "homeserver"). ;-) Edited June 7, 2014 by demiurg
ikon 439
Are you connecting the server directly to your TV?
demiurg 0
that was part of the plan, yes (although its a flexible plan).
ikon 439
That would explain why you want a GPU in the G8.
demiurg 0
Elementary, not excellent, as "it is one of those instances where the reasoner can produce an effect which seems remarkable to his neighbour, because the latter has missed the one little point which is the basis of the deduction." so back to the roots: does anyone has some experiences in/with the mentioned setting?
