Zenon
Hello, will I be able to install Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials Evaluation with my full retail versions key? So that after installation it will be Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. The system will be downloaded from: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/evalcenter/dn205288.aspx Or, could you please give me the link to Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials "safe" iso. Thank you in advance.
ikon
If it was me, I would just try it. If it complains, you have your answer. If it doesn't, well, you're good to go.
Zenon
Is there another place where I can download the secure image?
jmwills
No. Microsoft is the only download location. If you install the Eval version, you have to rebuild with the "paid" version.
Zenon
For Windows Server 2012 Essentials: You can convert to the full retail version by entering a retail, volume license, or OEM key in the command slmgr.vbs.So, rebuild is not necessary. jmwills
I don't think that is true. Not 100% certain. For instance, how are you going to enter a VL key without a key management server?

Drashna Jaelre
Yup, definitely. And I knew that Retail and MAK's worked for the Eval image.
