JW, doesn't it sounds like he wants Roaming Profiles? Not that I'm a big fan per se, but doesn't it sound like it?

Friends don't let friends use UPnP Just in general, don't use it.

Setup didn't ask me anything about ad or dns settings. When would I configure this

  You don't.  It's already there.

Check the DNS setting on the server NIC, it should be 127.0.0.1

I was looking into that but read there can be issues between 8 and 7. I just need four users to have access to QuickBooks

Sounds to me like he wants to install Quickbooks on the server and run the application from the client.

Wow you are correct lol.. now should iadd my static ip and default subnet

Yes and reboot.  Create a reservation on the router too.

You should be looking at:

192.168.1.2

255.255.255.0

192.168.1.1

127.0.0.1

No Entry

Now the clients will look to 192.168.1.2 for DNS.  Just make sure it is not running on the router

If it's just QB, I believe they have a server-based version.

You install to the server to manage the central database then you install on clients to sync..I want to run the program from the server so no matter the device they can use it

And I dont see anything in the router about dns just dhcp

What two errors?  You will NEVER have a server that doesn't have errors, or what it thinks to be errors.

What are the codes?  What research have you done on this?  Don't install any third party program or connect clients until the server is stable.
