jmwills
If you have an MSDN account, you can grab these now. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/downloads/#searchTerm=%26ProductFamilyId=542%26Languages=en%26PageSize=10%26PageIndex=0%26FileId=0 If not, these are supposed to come down next week on Patch Tuesday. Oddly enough, the same day support ends for XP.
Big Worm
Already installed! Wish I could say major changes, but you don't even notice the changes.
jmwills
To what? Windows 8? Big changes there.
Big Worm
Yes Windows 8. Watched the video and still don't see the big changes. Heck I don't even use the start screen.
jmwills
I've been booting to the desktop for months. Power Options on the Start Screen and Folder Option on Apps are nice.
Big Worm
Same for me. Once I booted to desktop I no longer visit the start screen.
Drashna Jaelre
For a lot of us, yeah, no change. But this IS huge. Much better integration between the desktop and metro. That's something that was sorely missing.
Jason
I'll avoid Win8 as long as possible. What are the changes to WSE12 R2?
jmwills
8 is great. 7 seems so clunky now.
Jason
I want to like 8 but still feels a bit like an experiment. Am only running it on one desktop client that I needed to connect to WSE12R2 via DirectAccess. In which case I'm running 8 Ent and not 8.1 because it consistently "broke" my DA connectivity on the client. Lost patience trying to pinpoint the root cause. Even still, there's nothing in Win 8 that I miss when I move back to Win 7 on my work PC. I wish there were improvements that were game-changing. Perhaps on a touch screen? And my HTPC is Win 7 with Media Center as Win 8 is the anti-Media Center :-)
