Backup Error with Seagate ST500DM002

Just had a interesting time setting up  a scheduled OS backup to the above mentioned HDD in a USB attached caddy

 

Basically.... it does not work with this drive

 

I kept getting the following error

 

A ) Error code 2155348010

 

&

 

B ) i/o device error

Looks like a 4096 sector size issue ????

 

Could not be bothered with trying to hunt doen a 512 emulator... but if anyone knows how to get around this problem... please shout out... shame not to be able to use a decent 500GB HDD

 

I popped in a WD 250GB Black (WD2502ABYS) as a stop gap and it's working fine..... Anyone had any other drives that DON'T work in a USB caddy ?
