WD Red WD10JFCX 1TB SATA 6.0Gb/s on SDM

Recommended Posts

I've been testing two WD RED WD10JFCX's on the SDM of my Gen8 that is currently running WHS2011.

My Temps are running a little cooler on my P222 as can be seen here http://homeservershow.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6790-p222-temperature-in-gen8/?p=78860

Here are a few pics of the Red's in place as well as some performance numbers on the RED's  (NOTE the individual Drive No's and the SW RAID No's were on a N40L that I was breaking in the RED's on before moving to the Gen8)

Thanks for the info. On the topic of 2.5" spinners

I'd be very interested to know how the 1tb Seagate SSHD's fear long term as the performance of these is very good.

Apparently with some larger density sizes coming this year for these in the 2.5" variety given they are 7.2k + 64mb cache + NAND if they bring out a 2tb this year and they were reliabile in a Raid 10 this would definitely be what ends up being squeezed into my box.
