HP Gen8 Modification Store is Live

This is the blower I have been using in the Gen 8 to cool WD VR drives:

You can velcro it in to blow on the SDM mounted drives or as Joe_Miner has done, you can mount it underneath to blow on the P222.

The fan is 12V DC, but it can be run on 5V DC as well. It is a bit confusing because it has red and black wires which would appear to be 5V.

There are cheaper blowers out there, but the Deltas are about the best.

hmm, not the quietest things around!

Do you know if regular fans (60 or 80mm) would fit anywhere?

If you run them on 5V they are very quiet, but they are spinning much slower.

Blowers are nice to direct air. I am not sure where a 60-80mm fan would fit. I was heading toward very small fans attached to heatsinks.

For the Delta blower you recommended, which one do you recommend in terms of speed?

Ok thanks, and you're running that at lower voltage?

Is the 5cm the only one that'll fit? Seems like the 7 or 8cm ones are much easier to come by.

Sorry, I totally missed this post.

I run them at 5 or 12 depending on how much air I need to move.

5cm is about the biggest that will fit above the internal brace.

If you are mounting it below the brace you could go with a bigger fan.

Hi all, if anyone is purchasing from the UK I would be happy to combine the order to save on p&p. I am looking to purchase the drive caddy for 2 x 2.5 inch drives, if anyone wants to combine this with their order I would be happy to pay for the extra shipping within the UK as well as the item of course! Otherwise I am just as happy to combine your items with mine and send them on as soon as they arrive.
