Diehard was correct!

I heard everyone giving diehard a hard time on the last couple of podcasts about his use of the term "take a leaf out of my book".
This is actually correct, it is the English (we use it in Australia too) equivalent of "take a page out of my book".
I have lived in Australia and the US and have heard both, I suspect that Canada being a commonwealth country has inherited some English sayings.
The term leaf for page is "old English" and is where the loose leaf system comes from.

As a result of that Boston Tea Party thing way back, all 'leaf' privileges for Americans were revoked, so they had to start using 'pages' in their books. :)
