3rd Party Inkjet Ink

Not a good place for this topic, but...

My wife still loves to print stuff and our printer although of good quality consumes ink at unbelievable rates.

I have an HP 7510e which comes with one black and 3 color cartridges I believe.

Does anyone have a recommendation for HP replacement cartridges or am I asking for trouble by going off OEM?

I can't get her to quit printing, so I am trying to lessen the pain.

Does it need to be color? We bought a laser printer a few years ago. It's much cheaper to operate if you don't need color all the time.

I wish I had a laser b/w printer instead. I never print color myself, but she is always doing some

kind of art project that needs to be color. At home I scan everything and print to file. If it is a lot

of pages I just print that file at work :)

I've seen a pack of XL cartridges for $40 and it might be worth just giving them a try. My goodness

ink is crazy expensive.

I ordered these off of Amazon a month or two ago and they have worked well enough for me that Sarah hasn't complained about them yet.  Cheap for sure.

This brand even includes bottles of ink. Think I will give a replacement brand a try

as the HP cartridges are expensive and literally last almost no time.

Ultimately decided to go with this product. 460 4/5 star reviews. $16 delivered via Amazon Prime

by Saturday. Bottles of ink and syringes with a 3 and a 5 year old in house, what could go wrong?

I ran that option by my wife earlier. We will likely be moving soon and mentioned once we get settled I probably

would get a laser for general printing and the photosmart for her craft projects.

One other option you might want to explore is the newer 'workgroup' colour inkjet printers from Epson and HP. I got one of the Epsons (refurbed). Their claim to fame is that they say they print colour at half the price of a typical colour laser printer. Here's a link to the Epson Workforce line. It's the Workforce Pro units, with the XL cartridges, that are cheaper than colour laser.

'Course, none of these will beat a plain B/W laser for $/pg.

I have a Epson Workforce 845.  I doesn't feel any cheaper when I buy that ink.  I can't say it last longer than an HP but the color picture quality is pretty good.

I still rely on my Brother Laser printer to create cheap and fast printouts.
