Microserver Gen 8 Temperatures

Recommended Posts

I'll do that mostly for testing because now I'm ok with this temp 60 C on the chipset with 6% fan. (it has threshold at 105C) I think it is safe enough, am I right ?

In the summer probably I will use the middle setting.

I will let you know how it goes.

Thank again,

teo

What setting do you have your fans set to in BIOS?  Have you tried cranking it up a notch?

This is what I'm seeing this morning with Fans at 40%

Guys,

I can confirm that at 40% case fan(the middle setting in BIOS) the idle temps are almost similar to those presented by joe in his answer.

I think in the winter I'll keep my 6% fan with higher temps but still in the safe zone, I hope ;)

You helped me to see if the server (still in testing)  is working as should in terms of temperatures.

Thank you and I wish you Merry Christmas!

Teo

Kevin,

The CPU is constantly at 40C temp so is like everyone else temp.

The chipset was the concern. It has higher temps comparing to others' reports. But I've found out, thanks to Joe suggestion, that the fan setting was the reason for this difference (mine was 6%  others 40%). At least this is my conclusion after the test with the middle fan setting.

thank you and best wishes,

teo
