ikon 439
I don't have a Domain ATM at home, but I have in the past and I have to say I do prefer them. My only issue for not having one now is I'm just too busy, and too lazy, to migrate all the user IDs over.
Drashna Jaelre 159
Ummm too lazy to run Windows Easy Transfer? I don't know... that sounds like almost too lazy to even turn on the computer.
ikon 439
Turn it on? Heck, it's in Sleep Mode so I don't even have to do that; just touch the keyboard. Seriously though, the real issue is just too busy. Hopefully that changes in the new year.
sprtfan 1
I was afraid to use the domain at first, but jumped in and like it so far. The only real issue I had was I have a 3 young kids that use Zoodles and a few other kid computer games and they had problems logging in. After setting up autlologin for them that problem hasn't been an issue. I guess there was also a small problem that if the server was down the internet would stop working on all of the computers as well but that was taken care of by setting up a 2nd DNS on each. Both were figured out with a lot of help from people here and I'd encourage people to give it a shot if the only thing holding them up is the fear of something new.
ikon 439
Domains can be pretty awesome when set up correctly.
Drashna Jaelre 159
Domains *are* freaking awesome when set up correctly. You can do stuff like disable services on clients, configure security options, even install programs, and push registry changes. If you know what you're doing, at least. Drashna Jaelre 159
Yup, definitely. Otherwise, it can be a nightmare. And even when you do know what you're doing.... you may find out that you really don't. But there are really a lot of cool things you can do with domains.

Of my wife and four kids, the only one that wouldn't reformat their computer if I started force feeding wallpaper is the dog.
