Disk size limitation - Gen8 Microserver

Recommended Posts

mike vidql

Hi,

Is it correct that the Gen8 Microserver has a 3TB per drive limit?  Is there any way around this?  I have some 4TB drives that I would like to use.

I concur; I haven't heard of any such limitation. There might be some thermal issues if you use hot-running drives, but that's not specifically a drive size issue.

If a 3TB drive can be seen then so can a 4TB.

I can confirm that the 8TB Seagate Archive drives work as well. I have 2 of them in my server.

I can confirm that a HGST 4 TB works fine as well.

I've had 2, 3, 4 and 6tb drives in my machine.
