What is a good drive caddy to mount SSD drives in the server?

Are you referring to mounting it in a servers drive carrier so that it aligns properly with the backplane?

As you are posting in the MicroServer area, I assume this is for a MicroServer?

Icydock works well;

IcePacks from WD work well. They make two types, make sure you get one like this;

I have not tried it, but I think this is the HP part;

Is that what you were looking for?

Yes, I was looking for options like that so the drives align to the back. Right now they are just sitting in there hovering lol

I've been using the ICY DOCK EZConvert MB882SP-1S-1B 2.5" to 3.5" SATA 6Gbps SSD & HDD Converter / Adapter / Mounting Kit / Bracket in the HP ProLiant N40L/N54L MicroServer and it has worked well for me.  Haven't used it yet in the Gen8 but I'm planning to.

Hi,

I bought a PNY 2,5 to 3,5 kit and I can tell you it's not working as it's not aligned with backplane.

Even after adding extra holes there no clean way to use it in hp gen 8.

I bought the hp "original" ( ;-) ) on eBay to see if it's better.

I will let you know when shipped in I guess 3 weeks (Hong Kong stuff).

Regards,

Pierre

Wouldn't it be possible to simply drill holes into the bottom of the HP 3.5" drive caddy and mount the SSD to the caddy that way?

There is no bottom, just side rails.

I suspect I could find a way to give it enough bottom ;)

Double sided tape works best, and cheapest!
