On a random note. I tried running SYSPREP and I got to the Windows Logo and the system crashed. What would cause that and can I find out why?

Will look into seeing If I can pull the drivers out of the .exe if I can find the right ones and correct way to place them.

Have you tried booting up in Safe mode on the Microserver?

The minimal set of drivers may allow the system to boot.

Then you could load the new drivers and reboot.

Not yet. I could give that a try. I'm just not sure why it would fail so easily.

BIOS settings like IDE, ACHI, and such like that would not cause a crash during boot up would they?

What is the chipset in the PC that you are migrating the Win 7 image from?

Intel to AMD would be enough of a driver change it could crash instantly.

I'll have to pull up the exact chipset but yes, it is going from intel to amd. Did not know it was that big of a difference. Guess I learned something new.

The other thing is I tried downloading and installing the drivers before the move, but the AMD ManagedInstaller or w/e it is called always crashed.

Schoondoggy is correct. AMD & Intel CPUs use completely different chipsets. I'm not a huge fan of moving an installed OS from one Intel box to another (unless they're exactly the same), never mind from Intel to AMD.

IMHO, a fresh install is the way to go. Use Windows Easy Transfer to at least get the accounts moved and to get a list of the apps installed on the Intel box.

Windows Easy Transfer really is awesome.

Though, I've recently done AMD to intel, works just fine. :P But yes, this is very hit or miss.
