NETGEAR ReadyNAS Storage Vulnerability

Recommended Posts

keeplearnin

Hey there folks,

Just a quick note to forum members that have a NETGEAR ReadyNas product to make sure you have updated your NAS software to the latest version of  4.2.24. This is extremely important if you have your ReadyNas accessible from the internet. In short a remote attacker can inject commands into the webpage you access remotely. These specifically crafted commands will allow an attacker the ability to access data, modify passwords, add users.

Just for sanity check purposes, I do work in the information security field and do this kind of stuff for my full time job.

Thanks,
