With disk drives, you will not see a huge performance difference between SATA II and SATA III.

A P420 or P222 will give you SATA III.

Of course, with mechanical disks you can not appreciate the difference. On the subject of drivers, this card would need some specific (in the event that required) or only with Service Pack would be enough?

The SPP should have updated firmware and drivers. What OS are you running?

If you start with the P410 you can migrate to a P420 later just by moving the drives, data in place migration.

I'll use Linux Mint 17.3

As for migration, I think it will not be necessary, this card meets my expectations :)
