Am rolling back from R2 to R1 tomorrow.  So far, not impressed w/ R2.  Encountered several setbacks w/ R2 that impacted my environment.  Regardless, I reached a point where I needed to reinstall my OS so I took a chance on R2.

It seems MS expects users to install WSE R2, add the Hyper-V role and then install WSE R2 within a VM.  Speaking of CF, isn't that complexity for the sake of?

HyperV replication. So if the Essentials box dies, you can load the VM on a different server and not experience any significant downtime.

And to help with migration/expansion.

And wow, the replica wizard is .... so simple, the boss could do it! Well maybe not, there are a couple of questions that he wouldn't understand. But the wizard takes like 30 seconds.  But you can create a "seed disk" for the replication.

To be honest, I'd never actually checked it out. But .... it's very very nice! Can replicate to a Windows 8 Pro box with HyperV enabled, apparently too.

And Ikon..... since when has Microsoft EVER given a clear answer. I was a MVP and .... even then...
