Drashna Jaelre
If I haven't mentioned it before.... it really is a "CF".... Jason
Am rolling back from R2 to R1 tomorrow. So far, not impressed w/ R2. Encountered several setbacks w/ R2 that impacted my environment. Regardless, I reached a point where I needed to reinstall my OS so I took a chance on R2. It seems MS expects users to install WSE R2, add the Hyper-V role and then install WSE R2 within a VM. Speaking of CF, isn't that complexity for the sake of?
jmwills
I thought the whole purpose of the HV role was for migration and not to run VM's in the new domain.

Drashna Jaelre
HyperV replication. So if the Essentials box dies, you can load the VM on a different server and not experience any significant downtime. And to help with migration/expansion. Drashna Jaelre
And wow, the replica wizard is .... so simple, the boss could do it! Well maybe not, there are a couple of questions that he wouldn't understand. But the wizard takes like 30 seconds. But you can create a "seed disk" for the replication. To be honest, I'd never actually checked it out. But .... it's very very nice! Can replicate to a Windows 8 Pro box with HyperV enabled, apparently too. And Ikon..... since when has Microsoft EVER given a clear answer. I was a MVP and .... even then...
