HighPoint Raid Question

I do not do very often, may once or twice a year just as a feel good.  I used to do it more often but it was always solid so I cut back as I questioned the value of doing it.  If you do it I would recommend that you do schedule it so it can run in the off hours as it take a long time to run.  You want to make sure your rebuild priority is set to the highest.  Unless others have had different ideas, I do not believe it is necessary to do it very often as it monitors errors real time and corrects for it.  Just my two cents

Did it just after all data transferred to the array and when I did a re install of the OS just for peace of mind. No real need for scheduled check in my view

I am. StableBit DrivePool and StableBit Scanner enjoy the heck out of the passed through disks. :)

And for 8 ports on a single PCIe 2.x card, it's a steal. And it gets the SMART data that way.

I'm also running a Norco RPC-4220 case. So whatever gets me the most available ports as efficiently as possible. :)
