Assuming you mean Anti-Virus, I'm switching over to BitDefender. Recently, it seems that Security Essentials is not doing a very good job. I did some research and, IMHO, BitDefender has one of the best track records over time.

I stopped using MSE after it started using loads of CPU on all my machines, apparently lots of people started having the same problem

I might give Bitdefender a try, or maybe Avira

I have a desktop widget for BitDefender. I also have a Start Menu item called BitDefender Total Security 2013 that brings up a configuration window.

I guess the free one is different, I don't have any options whatsoever.

Anyone know one that can notify you via email of stuff?

I did the trial version first and I had the widget for it. It's an odd looking charcoal coloured 'shield' that you can move around on the desktop. I don't think there's any difference between the trial version and full, other than the licence.

Are you using BitDefender Total Security?
