In addition to the obvious of backup and files centralization, I use, transcoding, Plex, SkyDrive, and DropBox.   I keep it down for stability reasons but I want to exploit the most use out of the server.

I have two home servers running.

The v1 box is handling backups, transcoding, remote connections, media center archive and general file server.

My 2011 box is working as media server, podcast downloader and My Movies server. I've tried adding couple of backups to the 2011, but they keep failing.

Backup

MyMovies Server - the real reason I even have one even more.

Moving more and more to the cloud.

With Windows8 new features, bare metal is less essential to me.
