whs2011 backup utility question / strategy

Since you're using cloudberry I was wondering about its setup. I setting it for cloud (s3) and local bacup (2 disks rotating offsite)

 

should you encrypt the local backup data in the cloudberry setitings, and if so doesn't that mean that you have to use cloudberry to get to the data, hence negating the advantage of being able to do so in windows explorer (ie the whole flat file argument)?

I do not use cloudberry for local backups, only for cloud (S3), however I would go with the encryption.  You would have to have cloudberry re-installed however there is a risk if you do not encrypt it if the drive(s) get stolen.  Cloudberry does data only so re-installing it should not be an issue.
