Hello,

Anyone know if there is any real difference between hyper-v as implemented in Win 8 vs. Server 2012?

Thanks,

Jesse

It's like comparing VMWare Workstation to ESXi......use a Server platform to do real server work.

You lose most of the advance features going with windows 8. Replication, Live migration, RemoteFX, Memory overprovisioning, disk differencing, RSAT management. etc...

Like jmwills said. Use real tools for real work. Hyper-v in windows 8 is geared towards secondary workspaces for compatibility and sandboxing.

Agree...Win8 Hyper V would be okay for firing up one machine.....but to run a serious environment, stick to the server side, especially with R2 being released and all of it's nice features.
