HP ProLiant Gen8 Microserver leaked specs

That box is too big for the area I have, and I really don't want to install a used box for something that runs 24x7 and is at the core of my LAN.

Refurbished does not necessarily mean used.

I could see recycling a old N36L for a UTM. The x16 slot would work well for a quad port NIC.

You see where they think it might be available in late June 2013?  Better clean off a new spot on the workbench!

I noticed!  The G630T has a Passmark index of 2154 or 160% of the N54L!!  Holly Crap!!  HAL will really fly on that puppy!!

If you want to fit more drives in the optical bay area then they might have taken a step backwards if this picture is actually the Gen8 Microserver.

Found on the HP Microservers Facebook page (sorry it's not larger).

or is the Gen8 board the same form factor as the older MicroServers,,,, does HP sell FRU's for MicroServers?

Did you catch the implication that the CPU would be in a socket -- upgrade possibilities!

That would open some interesting possibilities too -- would we need a little dremel work for the extra USB port I wonder......

OK, someone's gotta say it: that grill is just dorky looking. If I get any of these, that grill is gonna get painted black as soon as it come out of the box :P

I have been running the WHS1 pack 3 for many years.  Unfortunately it is no longer working.  I got a Proliant microserver Gen10 hoping it will run it but was unable to install the software.  The software should run on most older PCs?

Does anyone have the WHS1 running on the Gen10?  Also my WHS1 iso is Pack 1.  If I manage to install the Pack 1 can I find on the web the upgrade to pack 3?  Would I be forever stuck at Pack 1?  Any advice would be appreciated.

      Hey guys,

Has anyone around here been successful in setting up Proxmox on a Gen8 using a HBA for storage?

      Hey guys,

Bit of a random question here, and I know it depends on many factors such as what they are doing etc, but how many VMs have you guys comfortably ran on Gen8 with an E3-1265v2 and 16GB RAM? When did you start to see a performance hit compared to what the Gen8 is generally capable of?

      Hi,

I’m looking for the latest Proliant SPP for Gen. 8 servers.

      I’ve got a MicroServer, a DL360e and a DL380e which I’d love to update.

Has anyone got the latest SPP that wouldn’t mind sharing?

      Thank you!

      Hi
My HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 won't install HP Tools when I have running HP Smart Update Manager.
even when I have trying to install via Intelligent Provising, Windows Server 2019.

      Se image below 🙂 That's I missing.. ;-(
