I always see posts about the EARS drives about whether they work or not with WHS. Can someone who knows, no speculation, confirm this for me?

I have two of them and have not had any problems in the storage pool. Per the instructions, I move the jumper and it just works. I just bought another one and will let you know if anything comes up.

Tiger Direct has the same price and has been offering free shipping on selected items.

I just ordered one of these via the Newegg link on the HSS homepage. I also ordered a Zune HD 16 GB to replace my Zune 4 GB flash.

Me too, but I wear mine on my belt as I go about my work day, and I've bumped the audio jack one too many times. Now the device turns off if the cord is even slightly moved. Plus, I'm always bumping up against the 4GB limit, having to remove files to add files. I guess it's time.

pcdoc - so you're saying you just put the jumper on pins 7-8 as per the support on WD site?

1. New drive
2. Add jumper 7-8
3. Install
4. Power-on and add to the pool?

Is that right? So, no additional pre-formatting or anything is required? I ended up ordering 2. I didn't realize there was a Newegg link on the HSS main page though. I thought it was just Amazon. Ooops.

Thanks,
Keiht

Jazman, that is correct. Take it out of the bag, jumper and go.
