I was wondering if any of you found a way to somehow get these caddies in, and the USB 3.0 to work. Here are the links to the 5.25 Bay Racks with 2.5"/3.5" drives and 2 @ USB 3.0:

I'm secretly hoping that by unplugging the Front USB headers 1 & 2 that somehow the 20-pin connector from the 5.25 bay racks to the USB 3.0 can be accomodated. Both manufacturers call out "Supports two USB 3.0 ports via internal 20 pin header".

Might be wishful thinking, as I'd like to save the PCIe slots for Intel NIC and RAID controller cards and somehow get the USB 3.0 in there by other means.

USB 3.0 requires both a USB3 controller chipset (which the N40L doesn't have) and a 10-pin connector on the mainboard for external ports (which it doesn't have either).  So, not gonna happen without a controller card.

I had a case a few years ago that came with USB 3.0 ports on the front and it also came with adapter to convert the internal usb 2.0 mb header to the usb 3.0 internal connector to make usb 2.0 work on the ports if you don't mind usb 2.0 ports.

I would assume they make those adapters still.
