theamazontom
I just added WD Red drives to my WS2012e N54L box and created a 2-way mirror storage space and am trying to back up one of my desktops and it's telling me that it's unsuccessful because there isn't enough space. I'm guessing that it's trying to back up to my SSD OS drive but I can't find that setting to have it back up to my Storage Space (which is empty) instead. Where can I find this? revengineer
On the storage tab you need to move the client backup folder to your new drive. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
theamazontom
I had already done that before trying the backup. The Client Back up folder is set to my large, empty Storage Spaces drive. Still not working. Could it be because I chose GPT vs. MBR?
jmwills
What is the OS?
theamazontom
Windows 8 Pro. I figured it out, sort of. I only choose to back up the C: drive and not the WINRE or Recovery partitions/drives on my desktop and it's working.
ikon
It's backing up the RE Tools partition? I just tried that on my Surface Pro, but to my WHS2011, and it failed.
theamazontom
It's not backing up RE Tools either, just the main C: drive.
ikon
I was able to back up both the Recover and C: partitions, but not the RE Tools. I haven't yet tried to do a restore.
Technogod
theamazontom is running WS2012E. That's why he is able to backup and restore GPT partitions properly.
