Hi

I've setup RWA access for my folks so when our kids stay over with them, they can login to my WHS and stream their movies. I have changed the picture quality setting to Best in the dashboard but it's still pretty blocky and low quality.

I have a 50mb fibre connection where the WHS is, my dad has a 20mb fibre connection where we are currently viewing. Can't remember what my upload speed is will have to check later.

Are there any hidden settings or tweaks to help improve the picture quality?

Thanks

Also they are streaming videos to their laptop which is wireless N, I wonder if using a LAN cable to connect laptop to their router would help. But I suspect this would make much difference.

It's actual playing Ok it's not stuttering or buffering at all which I good, it's just badly pixelated. Laptop is connected to a 37 inch LCD Tv via a HDMI cable.

The upload speed at your place is crucial. The download speed doesn't really matter much at your place. At your parents, download speed is critical. And, yes, I would try using a LAN cable instead of 802.11n.

I think your best approach is to simplify as much as possible. Then, when you have the quality you want, you can start adding more complicated setups.
