Train Signal or CBT Nuggets would be a good place to look, but honestly, trial and error on a virtual machine is the best teacher.

That, and every guide that has you run "secpol.msc" or "Local Security Policies", or "gpedit.msc" can be applied to the domain.

 

Oh, one recommendation, if you want to create group policies, don't add a bunch of settings to one group policy object. Make a bunch of small ones.

Yeah. And enable the "group policy" option on the dashboard. There is a *shitload* of things you can do with group policies (like installing MSI files).

 

But while hands on is a great idea, I *highly* recommend getting your hands on those training videos. I've watched the Train Signal ones for "70-640" certification, I think it was. The most recent version is for Server 2008 R2 and Active Directory. But it covers a lot of features, and is very good knowledge for anyone that is running a domain controller.
