Microserver N40L - New Setup & Advice

I think your first decision is whether or not to upgrade the N40L to the 3rd party mod BIOS. Bear in mind that the SATA ports in the N40L only run at a max of 1.5Gbps without the mod BIOS; 3Gbps with it.

Is this where you now tell me I should of changed the BIOS before I installed WHS?

Correct...^^ However, (and you knew this was coming) you will need to verify that your BOOT order of the drives has not been altered by the MOD and if so, change it so the disk with the OS boots first.

Right, I've got the 250GB HDD mounted in the 5.25 Area.

 

I've read the bios mod thread but a little confused how to go about modifying the bios.

 

WD Red 3TBs x2 are being ordered even though they have gone up again!
