Connect ipad to network?

I've setup WS2012E RC with a couple of win 8 laptops as my home network.

Is there any clean way to join an iPad into the mix? I don;t know much about them.

While I enjoy the humor in the previous 2 posts it didn't really offer any help to the original question.

@vertisol - What exactly do you want to do? Your question is so vague that it is hard to answer. Please be a little more specific.

Attaching your iPad to you home wifi is pretty easy -- turn off 3G and click to join your home network. to access things like your printers etc requires a little more work but is doable. TinkererGuy has a number of video's here and on his web site on how to merge your iOS device into your ecosystem at home. http://homeserversho...y-not-required/

at the link above he demonstrated hooking into a system with a WHS2011 but he has sinced moved to S2012E http://www.youtube.c...ser/tinkererguy

If you're looking for an easy way to move/access files (like photos) -- what I've done is add Dropbox and Skydrive apps to my wife's iPad and she loves it. it's a LOT faster and easier than updating photos via iTunes and the photos and files are shared instantly on our home network (just put a copy of Dropbox and Skydrive on your server for instance). I can take photos with my iPod, drop them in DropBox and everything/everyone has instant access. Plus, it's backed up on my Server with a copy in the clouds.

If you're looking for a way to update via iTunes on any machine you may want to check out posts by TimeKills http://homeserversho...r-v/#entry42606 on how he set up iTunes on a VM but set it up to update his iOS devices via the USB port on any machine in his network.

The question is a little vague. Do you just want access to the network connection or join the iOS device to the domain?

I had a brain freeze earlier -- one option I forgot to metion is that you can use SplashTop to create a remote desktop on your iPad of your Win8 machines as well as Server 2012 -- which should also work on Server 2012 Essentials. http://homeservershow.com/splashtop-with-windows-8-and-server-8-on-ipad.html

JM....is SplashTop iOS only? Yea, I'm too lazy to Google.

I have used SplashTop on my WebOS HP Touchpad tablet......yes I still have that fire sale tablet. I can only imagine if they had the app for WebOS they have the App for Android.
