Newegg has the Intel EXPI9301CTBLK Network Adapter 10/100/1000Mbps PCI-Express 1xRJ45 for $22.99 with promo code EMCJJND64. Promo code is good until 11/12.

This is the NIC that Joe_Miner calls out in his parts list for his Microserver in this article.

I ordered one of these cards before I posted the deal. These Newegg sales leading up to Black Friday are gonna be tough to resist.

Newegg is the black hole of IT; it sucks in all your money, never to be seen again :)

At $23 it is one great deal for a very reliable and useful NIC card IMHO.

I'm curious as to how you fit that NIC in the MicroServer? I'm wanting to put the Intel EXPI9402PTBLK in my MicroServer as recommended on this forum, but I don't how it'll fit.

I don't understand your question. I changed out the full height bracket to the 1/2 height that came in the box and plugged it right into the Microserver. No issues for fit.

Newegg doesn't show either one comes with a low profile bracket. That's what I meant. Does the dual nic come with a low profile bracket?

Click on the links you provided to Newegg and click on the picture galleries -- the low profile brackets are there.

As I have decided to make some improvements on my afermarket fan controller I am trying to try implementing thermal control or mobo PWM control of additional fans, but before that I'm in a great need to inderstand how much fan count the controller should be ready to support. As this forum doesn't support polls I have nothing to do but ask you to reply on this topic.

What I would be thankful to know:
      1. How many fans have you installed in your Microserver.
      2. What fans do you use (size, 3/4-pin connector) and where are they located, also what are they cooling.
      3. What way do you power these fans?

Thank you in advance for your feedback!

      Hi
My HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 won't install HP Tools when I have running HP Smart Update Manager.
even when I have trying to install via Intelligent Provising, Windows Server 2019.

      Se image below 🙂 That's I missing.. ;-(

      Hi everyone.

      New to this forum.
I have a gen8 microserver running at home, where I have installed an SSD in the ODD sata slot. On the SSD I have installed Ubuntu Server 18.04.
I have then created a logical volume witht the raid controller and can then boot to the SSD. So far so good.
My problem emerges when I reboot the system. The logical volume disapears and it gives the error: "boot logical drive is configured but is missing or offline".
I then have to go into the utility and reconfigure the logical volume. Kind of annoying, when trying to run a headless setup.

      Greetings,

I'm new to the HPMSG8 world and so far I'm loving it. I have a stock Xeon with 16G of aftermarket memory with iLO patched to 2.70. Next up is adding a RAID card, so I can put my boot SSD on the onboard RAID. I picked up a LSI SAS9211-8i on Amazon, but am struggling to flash it to IT mode on the MicroServer. Is this even possible? Unfortunately, the only other system I have with PCI slots is 32-bit.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, I have just installed Windows Server 2019 Standard (Desktop Experience) using the latest (WS2016) HP AMD chipset & VGA driver. Everything is recognised in Device Manager and stable.
