Back on August 2nd, I posted this article detailing a reason behind the huge speed boost I'm witnessing with Windows Server 2012 Essentials, for backups and restores:

http://tinkertry.com/reasons-backups-are-faster-windows-server-2012-essentials

What's interesting and new about this is the update email I got today, August 21, 2012:

The following feedback item you submitted at Microsoft Connect has been updated:

Product/Technology - Windows Server Solutions

Feedback ID – 746592

Feedback Title – Speed of PC Backups to WHS2011 and Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials much slower

The following fields or values changed:

Field Status changed from [Resolved] to [Closed]

Naturally, I went over and checked in on the full bug report here:

http://connect.microsoft.com/SBS/feedback/details/746592/speed-of-pc-backups-to-whs2011-and-windows-storage-server-2008-r2-essentials-much-slower

and found this kind of amusing, but not surprising:

Thoughts?

I read their 8/7/2012 response to you -- I'm still scratching my head. Though they do wish you the best apparently.
