Interesting idea. In the secure environments I've dealt with power bars/strips aren't even permitted; everything is plugged directly into the AC outlets. Of course, I doubt this device is built with the idea of penetrating secure environments; more likely it's for more normal situations.

I think the target is specifically for large, secure organizations. Why would you build a $1,000+ device for a small business. They are obviously wanting big rewards if they use that. Of course this was intended for verification of security protocols. I could see a lot of large corporations buying them to verify their security protocols are working as they believe they are.

I was thinking more in the line of internet cafes and the like. A wealth of personal information there.

But I don't think that level of sophistication is needed in those areas. Sure you could use it but it would be an unneeded expense.
