TommySharp
Hey guys, I'm in the process of building a new "home server" and have started hunting around for ideas on how to make it run Windows 7 but still give me all the features of WHS. Backups is probably my main concern, and I'm really looking for the same as this post creator which is... - Bare metal restores over ethernet - Incremental Backups with history - Save space by only storing 1 version of a file if it's on multiple clients - A central control application on the server I'm going to checkout both Paragon and EaseUS to see how they stack up but if anyone has any further suggestion........ Joe_Miner
WHS-2011 will do all that you want and it's less expensive than Windows 7.
TommySharp
I'm hoping to consolidate my WHS and master HTPC into one box so wonder how WHS 2011 will handle TV tuners etc.. This opensource backup software actually looks promising in theory, will have to give it a try..... http://www.urbackup.org/index.php?lang=en
ikon
Have you tried some tuners in WHS2011? I think I would go that route first.
